Ted Turner is an organist, pianist, and music instructor based in Raleigh-Durham.

Ted is currently the organist and music director at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Durham. He recently completed a Doctorate of Musical Arts in organ performance at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where his principal teacher was Dr. Dana Robinson. At the University of Illinois, Ted also studied harpsichord and basso-continuo with Dr. Charlotte Mattax as well as orchestral conducting with Donald Schleicher. He completed his undergraduate degree in music at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, where he was the winner of the Cauthen Soloist competition in 2014. Ted has conducted further studies in organ at the McGill Organ Summer Academy in Montreal and in private studies with Sietze de Vries in historical improvisation.

Before moving to Raleigh-Durham, Ted served as organist at First Presbyterian Church of Urbana, IL and as a piano instructor at Champaign School of Music.
